Project Hotel: der Baum
There is no other place like der Baum in all of Europe, and maybe even in the whole world. It is a unique example of circular design. Old pine wood, hand-planed oak, dark gray slate, stone pavers – and all recycled. Every stone and beam has a story. The owner has put his whole heart and many years of life into this project, offering us a space where we have direct contact with nature and regain contact with ourselves.
I had the pleasure of collaborating on der Baum’s latest project: “Tiny Houses at the Creek”. The project consists of several small, independent houses, offering not only accommodation space but above all comfort and intimacy. The challenge of the project was to make functional use of the small space, but it succeeded brilliantly.
